How to enable or disable HDR video streaming in Windows 11
As mentioned above, Windows lets you stream high dynamic range (HDR) video when your PC has a display that’s optimized for HDR video and you have Play streaming HDR video turned on in HDR settings. Not all displays are optimized for HDR video. You may have two displays and only one is optimized to stream HDR video. A display that doesn’t support HDR, will stream in the appropriate standard dynamic range (SDR). Below is how to enable or disable HDR video streaming. Windows 11 has a centralized location for the majority of its settings. From system configurations to creating new users and updating Windows, all can be done from its System Settings pane. To get to System Settings, you can use the Windows key + I shortcut or click on Start ==> Settings as shown in the image below: Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it. Windows Settings pane should look similar to the image below. In Windows Settings, click the Display tile on the right pane as highlighted in the image below. On the System,> Display settings pane, under Brightness & color, select the HDR or Use HDR tile to expand. On the System > Display HDR settings pane, choose or select the display to use for HDR video streaming. Under Display capabilities, toggle the button switch to the On or Off position to enable or display HDR video streaming for the selected display. That should do it!
